CALL FOR ARTISTS: That was then… This is now

In conjunction with our Celebration of Asian American, Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Westbury Arts is seeking to showcase original works by artists representative of the Pan-Asian Community and organized around the theme “That was then, this is now” – an old Chinese Proverb to represent seeing art with historical representation created now.
We invite artists, who want to celebrate the history of Asian and Pacific Island Historical Heritage, to submit original works inspired by historical works of these cultures for an exciting exhibit at our gallery located at 255 Schenck Avenue in Westbury, NY
DEADLINE AND IMPORTANT DATES:
Entries must be submitted before Sunday 4/20/25
Artwork delivery: 255 Schenck Ave, Westbury on Saturday 4/26/25 10am-1pm
EXHIBITION DATES: From Sunday 4/27/25 To Sunday 6/8/25
OPENING RECEPTION: Sunday 2pm-4pm 4/27/25
ELIGIBILITY: Must be 18 years or over. Original creative works to be considered can be either 2 or 3 dimensional in the medium of choice,
and wired to hang. 3-D works may be limited by our ability to properly display them. Artwork that does not adhere to requirements will not be exhibited.
SALES: You may offer your artwork for sale, or it will be marked NFS (Not for Sale). Artists agree to donate 20% of the sale price to Westbury Arts of any work sold during this exhibition.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: All entry submission information
must be included. Judging for 2-D and 3-D works will be done entirely from JPEGs or PNGs. No other formats will be accepted. Maximum file size for any individual image is 100 MB. Up to three works can be submitted by an artist. All 2-D work must be wired and ready-to-hang.
Size Restriction: no bigger than 36×48
SUBMISSION FEE (for up to 3 works):
$30.00 for current Westbury Arts members
$35.00 for non-members
A panel of Westbury Arts will determine which works will be accepted. Considerations will include relation to the theme, family-
friendly subject matter, and artistic merit. Your completion of the entry form will serve as your acceptance of the terms and conditions stated herein. All decisions will be final.
