Whenever a band got a request that they didn’t know\, Russell did. “I got a nickname as the Hitman because I knew all the hits\,” he said. \nHe could play anything professionally\, but for fun\, Russell played blues. When he showed up for jam sessions at the Chicago Blues Club wearing a tux and hat\, the jam co-host would yell\, “It’s Hitman Russ!” When Russell finally got a chance to build his dream project\, it could only be called The Hitman Blues Band. \n7 albums and countless tours later\, thousands of fans confirm it was the right choice. \nThis is a great opportunity to unwind and enjoy a summer evening with friends and family. Get ready to groove to the blues with the talented musicians of the Hitman Blues Band. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable evening under the stars! \n  \nParking is Free after 6:00 PM in the Westbury Village lots. \nRain Venue: Westbury Arts\, 255 Schenck Ave.\, Westbury\, NY 11590 \n  \nWestbury Arts programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. \n

SUMMARY:LICP Small Works Show at b.j. spoke
DESCRIPTION:featuring Westbury Arts member artist Susan Tiffen\nExhibition Dates: July 3-28\, 2024 \nOpening Reception: July 7\, from 2-4 PM \n  \nIn July b j spoke gallery will host an exhibition of photographs by members of the Long Island Center of Photography. \nIn the words of Marc Josloff\, the president:  They say “Less is More\,” yet in a typical art show many artists seem to feel that “bigger is better” and the “WOW Factor” reigns supreme. This exhibition sets out to prove the opposite…that “SMALL” has a simplicity and poignancy that is more intimate and engaging to the viewer\, drawing one in for a closer look. When well-perceived and crafted\, “SMALL” holds you\, in place\, for a concentrated gaze. Come see for yourself. \nThe 15 Photographic artists:\nLinda Abrams\, Tom D’Emic\, Judith Feinman\, Marc Josloff\, Carolyn Karsten\, Seymour Levy\, Dick Lopez\, Diane Luger\, John Michaels\, Joseph Neumayer\, Howie Pohl\, Susan Silkowitz\, Alan Stein\, Susan Tiffen and Joan Weiss. \nThe Long Island Center of Photography\, founded 1997\nMarc Josloff President\, mjoslo4@verizon.net\nwww.licenterofphotography.com
