Pat Jenkins Lewis is retired from the City of New York holding positions in the Human Resources Administration and the Administration for Children’s Services. She holds a Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and a Masters of Science in Public Administration from the New School for Social Research in New York City. Ms. Lewis is also a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Ms. Lewis is co-owner of “From Ghana, With Love” a retailer of high-quality clothing and artifacts imported from Ghana, West Africa. Started in 2000, this enterprise provides an opportunity to showcase authentic items and provides economic opportunities for indegenous merchants and artisans from Ghana, Togo, Benin and Mali.

Ms. Lewis’ business also provides Americans with the opportunity to own high-quality apparel and merchandise from West Africa. In addition to importing goods from Ghana and neighboring countries, Ms. Lewis coordinates trips to West Africa giving travelers the opportunity to experience its rich culture and history. In recognition of Ms. Lewis’ biennial pilgrimages to West Africa since 1999 and her continued commitment to sharing the history and culture of Ghana and providing rural villages medical and school supplies; in 2017 Paramount Chief Kpembewuba IV Ndedfuso honored Ms. Lewis by naming her as a Queen Mother or Ewurche. Ms. Lewis has resided in the Westbury/New Cassel community for over 33 years and has given her time and talents in support of numerous organizations and endeavors. She is a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church where she works with Heart-to-Heart ministries; she is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, she volunteers for the Westbury Public School System and is a supporter of the Women’s Shelter in Westbury. Ms. Lewis is a recipient of the May Newberger Womens’ Roll of Honor (2008), the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Club (Central Nassau Chapter) Business Person of the year (2009); Community Service Award for outstanding service to the Westbury/New Cassel Community by the National Pan Hellenic Council (2016); Westbury Arts Volunteer of the Year Award (2018); Pearl of Excellence Award for community service from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (2019).
