Alex Nuñez has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Pratt Institute and majored in graphic design.
He has lived in Westbury since 1995 and loves supporting Westbury’s local organizations. He’s currently a member of the village Latino Advisory Council, is on the St Brigid church finance committee and is an assistant Scout Master for Westbury Troop 233. In 2001, shortly after the 9/11 attacks, Alex sought a unique way for the community to come together and honor the victims of those attacks. He enlisted hundreds of area volunteers to create a giant memorial American flag quilt. Each 6-inch square piece of fabric was lovingly hand-stitched with the names of one of our fallen heroes. The memorial flag quilt measures 26ft deep by 48ft wide and it has found a forever home at the 9/11 Memorial Museum in downtown Manhattan.
