Lynne Poole is a Westbury resident who proudly hails from Cleveland, Ohio. Lynne attended Kent State University, graduating with a B.A. degree in Communications.
Upon graduation Lynne was offered a job as a retail merchandiser at Warner/Elektra/Atlantic Music Distribution Company in Cleveland — this was the beginning of a long and successful career in the entertainment industry.
Eventually, Lynne was promoted to the sales division becoming the first African-American Regional Sales manager at Atlantic Records, working with artists such as Aaliyah, Brandy, and rap artist Lil Kim. After many successful years at Atlantic Records, Lynne joined Sony Music Entertainment later becoming the VP of National Marketing overseeing regional staff responsible for creating marketing plans for artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Sade, Jill Scott, Michael Jackson, Beyonce and CeCe Winans to name a few. Several years later she was named East Coast Vice-President, managing branch offices in New York and Atlanta. She has been recognized on numerous occasions, most recently by the Westbury/New Cassel NAACP for Women’s History Month 2023. Realizing her position in entertainment might be attractive to younger people she partnered with many organizations and schools to mentor and encourage the youth to pursue positive opportunities, focus on education, respect family, and dream big. Lynne has transitioned her successful career experience into one working with government officials; assisting with campaigns, and managing Legislative and Town Clerk offices – during this time, she has organized many community events to assist constituents and empower youth; she currently serves in Human Resources at the Nassau County BOE. Lynne is an active member of the First Baptist Cathedral of Westbury under the leadership of Bishop Lionel Harvey where she serves as Administrative Assistant to the Bishop, Trustee, Assistant Church Clerk, and a member of the Scholarship committee. She enjoys spending time with family & friends, good food, music, reading, spectator sports, and quiet time.
