Call for Artists: ERIDU – Sci-Fi Show

Westbury Arts’ Featured Artists Series continues this fall with “ERIDU- A Science Fiction Art Show”

This October, we’re launching into the cosmos with a themed exhibition celebrating Outer Space and Science Fiction! Join us as we spotlight artist and writer Jay Stuart, who will debut his newest graphic novel art book, Eridu—a thrilling story set in the near future, where a newly discovered planetoid near Saturn sparks an epic space adventure. A diverse crew aboard a starship faces unknown challenges in this mysterious world.
In addition to showcasing all the original paintings featured in the book, we’re inviting artists of all mediums to submit their own space-inspired creations. Whether your inspiration comes from NASA, classic sci-fi, futuristic visions, or the mysteries of the universe—if it’s about outer space, we want to see it!
Be a part of this out-of-this-world experience at our gallery, located at 255 Schenck Avenue, Westbury, NY.

DEADLINE AND IMPORTANT DATES:

Submission Deadline: Entries must be submitted online before 12:01 AM on October 1, 2025

Acceptance Notification: Sent to artists by October 3, 2025
Artwork Delivery: 255 Schenck Ave. on October 4, 2025
Opening Reception: Sunday, October 5, 2-4 pm

ELIGIBILITY: Must be 18 years or over. Original creative works to be considered can be either 2 or 3 dimensional in the medium of choice,and wired to hang. 3-D works may be limited by our ability to properly display them. Artwork that does not adhere to requirements will not be exhibited.

SALES: You may offer your artwork for sale, or it will be marked NFS (Not for Sale). Artists agree to donate 20% of the sale price to Westbury Arts of any work sold during this exhibition.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: All entry submission informationmust be included. Judging for 2-D and 3-D works will be done entirely from JPEGs or PNGs. No other formats will be accepted. Maximum file size for any individual image is 100 MB. Up to three works can be submitted by an artist. All 2-D work must be wired and ready-to-hang.

Size Restriction: no bigger than 36×48

HANGING FEE (for up to 3 works):
$30.00 for current Westbury Arts members
$35.00 for non-members A panel of Westbury Arts will determine which works will be accepted. Considerations will include relation to the theme, family-friendly subject matter, and artistic merit. Your completion of the entry form will serve as your acceptance of the terms and conditions stated herein. All decisions will be final.
