CALL FOR ARTISTS: “Uniquely Me: Expressions of My Heritage”

In observance of International Children’s Day, Westbury Arts invites children in 1st through 12th grade, from the town of Westbury and nearby areas, to participate in the art exhibit “Uniquely Me: Expressions of My Heritage.”

“Uniquely Me: Expressions of My Heritage” calls for children’s view of their family origin, traditions, cultural values, and the pride of being unique in their own way. We are looking for a visual narrative that displays who they are, celebrating their roots. Work to be considered can be either 2- or 3-dimensional, no larger than 48” on any side. Entry form must be filled out completely. Up to two pieces per participant will be considered. If accepted, parents/guardians will be notified.

The exhibit will be up for viewing from June 9 through June 29, 2024.

Open to students from Westbury, New Cassel, Carle Place, and all local communities.

Please note:

Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, May 22, 2024

Acceptance notifications will be sent to all accepted students by Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

Artwork drop off at 255 Schenck Ave. Westbury, NY on Saturday June 8, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Artwork will be returned at the end of the exhibit on Saturday July 13 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

All pieces must be wired and ready for hanging.

Drop off and pick up artwork during the scheduled time.
