About this event:

African American Culture: Connecting the Community Through the Arts, offers a rich tapestry of live and video performances in storytelling, dance, song, poetry, artistic expression and cultural reflection!

Our performance program will feature The Harlem Swing Dance Society, the premiere organization preserving and propagating Harlem’s rich Lindy Hop and Swing Dance culture – along with a titillating line-up of other performing artists!

Pat Jenkins Lewis, Westbury Arts Board Director and event organizer, in collaboration with Westbury Arts, is honored to once again lead the Black History Month commemoration and celebration – “Through dance, song and spoken word, we will educate as well as entertain. This year’s theme highlights our mission to share the history, heritage and achievements of Black people in the visual and performing arts.” This family-friendly event brings together the community and allows for sharing of information and history in an engaging and festive atmosphere.

*Masks and CDC/NYS Guidelines Required!
