July 11 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Learn how to ink your artwork, drawing fundamentals, and watercolor effects and techniques in this 3-class course with instructor Jay Stuart.

Class Dates: Thursdays, July 11, 18, 25

Time: 6:00 to 9:00 PM

Location: Westbury Arts, 255 Schenck Ave, Westbury

Workshop Description: The class will start with everyone doing a sample ink drawing and applying watercolor to gauge each student’s abilities. Then Jay will go over drawing fundamentals and a review of inking supplies and beginning techniques. You will then do some practice exercises and begin working on watercolor paper with pencil, and then a final ink application. Jay will supply reference photos for students to choose from.

Once the inkwork is complete, Jay will show the students watercolor materials and techniques. You will do a few practice samples and then add watercolors to your final ink piece. The class will wrap up with instruction on how to properly varnish a watercolor painting using Dorland Wax Medium and Acrylic Varnish.
