Honoring Our Voices: Sharing Hope’ is an exhibition Westbury Arts is honored to host a poetry reading by New York Poet Laureate Patricia Spears Jones.
The reading takes place at 3 pm, November 16, 2025, followed by the reception until 6 PM, at the Westbury Arts Gallery. Jones is a poet, playwright, educator, cultural activist, and anthologist. Her books include The Beloved Community, A Lucent Fire, Painkiller, Femme du Monde and The Weather That Kills.
The Museum of Modern Art commissioned Jones’s poem “Lave” for the exhibition, Jacob Lawrence: The Migrations Series. We are immensely proud to have Patricia Spears Jones as our guest for this unique and timely event.’Honoring Our Voices: Sharing Hope’ is an exhibition featuring and curated by Emily Barnett. The exhibition seeks to explore our individual ways of honoring people and events that have moved us as individuals, or our nation, in a positive direction.
