2hrs (digital) Ages 10 and up.
Course Information
Landscapes don’t have to be daunting or frustrating. With the right mindset and a bit of guidance, they can be fun challenges! This workshop will give students the tools and right frame of mind to approach any landscape with confidence!
Teaching Philosophy
I have a fluid teaching philosophy. I believe that every student has their own unique way of learning, and therefore, their own set of needs and strengths that they bring to me. I try to adjust what I am teaching to meet every student’s needs so the class as a whole will be more successful.
Course Content
Class will begin with an introduction to materials being used followed by a discussion about how to think about landscapes. Class will then be asked to view pictures of landscapes and follow along with breaking a landscape down into shapes and values (with consideration of atmospheric perspective/distortion). The next step in the process will be to have students do a series of 1-3min gesture drawings of various landscapes. Following this will be longer and longer drawings culminating in 20 min drawings.
