The Power of Service: A dialogue on art, education and social responsibility

Join us for an evening of art, poetry, music and an empowering dialogue with Long Island Women making a difference in today’s society.

Event will be held via ZOOM on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 8:00pm registration required through Eventbrite and the ZOOM link will be sent out the day of the event.

COVID-19 has brought upon us many challenges, but as Maya Angelou said, “We may encounter many defeats but we may not be defeated.” From governmental positions, to health care, education, and the arts, these women continue paving the way, showing us that regardless of how many difficulties we encounter, we must continue thriving.

With an art exhibit on “Healing and Hope” by Marie Saint-Cyr, Westbury Arts President, Julie Lyon, performing her original song “February Thaw” with music by pianist Chris Forbes and guest artist, Shery Arias, interpreting “This is me” from the Greatest Showman, Westbury Arts is bringing an enchanted evening to celebrate women’s accomplishments in times of a pandemic. With guest panelists: Ryan Shea, Viviana Russell, Dafny Irrizarri, Dana Boylan, Beth Giacummo, Lisa Matos, and Adriana Devers as moderator, leading a panel to empower, motivate and celebrate each of our stories, history and identities. Westbury Arts invites you to join in as we celebrate today’s Long Island Women through art and beyond.
