Open call for artists to participate in the upcoming Pop Up Gallery sponsored by the Greater Westbury Council for the Arts. The exhibit will be in conjunction with the Annual Business Improvement District Westbury Street Fair in the Village of Westbury on Saturday, October 24th. The street fair generates approximately 10,000 visitors, so this is a great opportunity to have your artwork seen by a large audience!
The Pop-up Gallery will be outside, under cover of two 10’x 10’ canopy tents next to The Space Theater and artwork will hang on our steel exhibition racks. There will be other art related activities for families going on adjacent to our art exhibit such as “Chalk Art’ on the side walk. This location is a high traffic area and visible to all visitors to the street fair.
Submission fee is $15 for nonmembers of the Westbury Greater Council for the Arts and $10 for members. Art work size is limited to max 12”x12” framed. There is no specific theme, but this is a family friendly event so please keep that in mind when choosing your subject matter. Please send no more than 5 jpeg samples of your work to [email protected] with the subject line – Pop Up Gallery. Please include your contact information, dimensions of artwork and link to your artist website, if any.
Preference for Art Exhibit participation will be given to artists that live in the greater Westbury area, other artists will be considered, if possible, on a space available basis.
Please bring your artwork framed and ready to hang. Artwork drop off is at 8:00 a.m. pick up is at 5:00 p.m. The arts council cannot be responsible for any artwork that is not picked up.
**Artists are responsible for any and all sales generated at this event. If your artwork is for sale, we expect artists to stay and conduct all sales in person. Artists are free to leave promotional materials for distribution, however, the arts council is not responsible for selling artwork on October 24th.**
We will have an opening reception for the Pop Up Gallery, at the street fair from 12pm to 3pm on October 24th.
