The July 19 event featured returning jazz and blues band Sympatico.

Westbury Arts continued its 2018 Summer Arts & Concert Series with jazz and blues band Sympatico on Thursday, July 19. The event, which was sponsored by BJ’s Wholesale, attracted over 125 attendees to the Piazza Ernesto Strada. It was the fourth in a series of 10 free outdoor concerts to take place in the Village of Westbury this Summer.

Sympatico is a group of four like-minded musicians whose members have been playing music in the tri-state area for four decades. Their repertoire is a mixture of popular jazz and blues both nostalgic and current, from Nina Simone to Etta James, and Sergio Mendes to Diana Krall. Versatility best describes their varied musical experiences from society and club dates, to dance clubs and shows in rock arenas. Sympatico is Ruth Ansell piano, Robert Sole bass, Brad Singer drums and vocalist Toni Washington-Bolt.

The Westbury Arts Summer Arts & Concert Series takes place every Thursday night (through August 30) at 7pm in the Piazza Ernesto Strada, located on the corner of Post Ave and Maple Ave in Westbury, NY. Attendance is free for all events.
