Westbury Arts Hosts First Hispanic Heritage Art Exhibit in Collaboration with Town of North Hempstead

“Estamos Unidos” Will Run From September 22 through October 19 at the Yes We Can Center

Westbury Arts, in collaboration with the Town of North Hempstead, celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with the exhibit “Estamos Unidos” at the Yes We Can Community Center at 141 Garden St, Westbury, NY 11590 from Sunday, September 22 through Saturday, October 19. The exhibit will kick off with a special opening reception on Tuesday, September 24 at 6pm.

“Join us as we celebrate Hispanic culture on Long Island. This exhibit seeks to celebrate the wide variety of artistic expression and cultural contributions of Hispanic artists on Long Island’” says Alex Nuñez, event curator and Westbury Arts board member. “You’ll discover the colors, rhythm and fusion that is hispanic art in America.”

The exhibit features artwork by Paul Rodriguez, Zinaida Madurka, Jenri Gonzalez, Nelson Santiago, Ester Pagan, Adriana Guzmán, Vivian Lipman-Denis, Tom Cabrera and Silvia Rey.

“I am pleased and proud that Westbury Arts’ is presenting “Estados Unidos”, our first exhibit featuring Hispanic artists, as part of our Hispanic Hertage Month celebration” said Julie Lyon, Westbury Arts Board President. “Estados Unidos” or “We are united” speaks directly to our core value of celebrating diversity and our vision of using arts and culture to create a sense of belonging and pride.”
