Salisbury Tavern, a popular sports bar and dining spot in Westbury, seeks an artist to submit proposals of original art for a mural to be painted on a small wall in their outside lounge area. The owners of the Tavern would like to express a patriotic theme that incorporates eagle wings and the American flag.

Their purpose is to offer a photo opportunity for patrons and in doing so, encourage sharing of photos and location on social media outlets.

The wings will provide a colorful and exciting backdrop for patrons to stand in front of for photos. Creativity is encouraged in the interpretation of the theme.

July 19: Open call for proposals released

August 16: Submission of original art for consideration due

August 23: Final artist selection will be made by Salisbury Tavern

August 30 – September 6: Production of Mural

Size of mural space to be painted – the image does not have to take up the whole space.

Landscape orientation – 8’ high x 10’ wide

Artist Honorarium: $500*

*Honorarium includes cost of painting supplies. Artist will be responsible for providing their own painting supplies. Salisbury Tavern will prep and prime the wall in preparation for painting.*

Unveiling of mural will take place on Sunday, 9/8/19.
