Exhibit Description

Westbury Arts is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting our very first LGBTQ Pride Month exhibit entitled, “Everyday Pride.” Pride Month often evokes powerful images of celebrations with rainbow flags – but ‘pride’ means many things to different people. This curated, juried art exhibit will feature two-dimensional original works of art in any medium that explore how LGBTQ folks express pride on a day-to-day basis. Monetary prizes will be awarded for best-in-show ($100) and honorable mention ($50).

In the spirit of inclusion, there is no entry fee and Westbury Arts will not take a commission from any sales that occur.

Entries will be accepted until Friday, May 24, 2019. The exhibit will be on display at Nana’s Ice Cream & Coffee House from Tuesday, June 18 through Sunday, June 30. There will be an opening reception on Tuesday, June 18 at 7pm.

Submission Guidelines

Open to all LGBTQ+ artists and allies living and/or working in the greater Westbury area and its surroundings. Original works in 2D in any medium no larger than 36” x 36” except for video and installation art, can be accommodated. You may submit up to three pieces for consideration.

All accepted artwork must be delivered to Nana’s Ice Cream & Coffee House on Monday, June 17 by 7:00pm. Each piece of art must be ready for hanging with a secure framing wire attached to the back.

If your work is accepted, we will notify you via email no later than May 31.
