Farmers & Artists Market Vendor Spotlight: Foughnuts

This summer, Westbury Arts and Sunnyside Markets are teaming up to launch the Westbury Farmers & Artists Market. Each market will feature up to twenty-five booths selling local produce and original artwork. Throughout the season, we’ll be highlighting some of our fantastic vendors.

Meet Foughtnuts

How did you get started in your field/selling these products?

I got started because I have always had the passion to start my own business but I knew I didn’t want to own just any business, but rather, a fun and unique one. Donuts are in, at least in Southern California, where I am from and I realized that NY needed a little new twist on their donut game. Therefore, we came up with the baked donut concept.

What kind of products can be found at your booth at the Farmers and Artists Market? Which is your most popular product?

Baked donuts. They are cake base so it’s a little more dense than your traditional donut. We have flavor options that are gluten free, nut free and vegan options and they are all delish! All flavors do well. God forbid we discontinue a flavor, we have sad customers. Lol! Our top selling flavors are: Cookies & Cream, Fough-moa (our version of the Girl Scouts cookie, Samoas), Red Velvet and Strawberry Basil. But again, all do well. Banana Coconut, Apple Caramel, Chocolate Ganache, Blueberry Crumb, Raspberry Jammin and more!

What makes your products special/unique?

We are the first baked donut store in NY. All others are traditionally fried in oil. Baking our donuts gives us more of a leverage to be more creative in both our base and toppings. This fact alone is what separates us from the rest. We make everything from scratch and bake out of our store in Great Neck fresh every morning.

The Westbury Farmers & Artists Market runs every Sunday from June 11 through September 24 at 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM in the Piazza Ernesto Strada, located at the corner of Post Ave and Maple Ave in Westbury, NY. Interested in signing up to become a vendor? Reserve a booth for just $25.
