Girls Inc of Long Island

Open Enrollment For Girls Inc. Of Long Island Summer Program

What is Girls Inc?

Girls Inc is an empowering experience which provides girls with trusting, mentoring relationships, a girls-only enviornment, and research-based, hands-on programming that serves unique needs of girls, ages 5-18, living in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Each week, girls will be navigating four main topics: STEM, the basics of finance, being smart with media, and the importance of their mind and body. STEM Programming includes hands-on activities in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). With media smarts, girls can increase their awareness of the scope and power of the media. Following their mission of inspiring girls to be strong, smart, and bold, they help girls build a positive body image, shatter stereotypes and expectations, and find the beauty and confidence to be themselves.

The program, which is for girls entering 3rd to 5th grade, runs Mondays, 4-6pm, from July 9 through July 30, 2018 at the Phipps Gym (346 Post Avenue, Westbury, NY). Registrations are accepted on a first come first serve basis. The registration fee is $40. A Girls, Inc. t-shirt and snacks are included.
